Skepticism of big patent damage awards may make Apple's post-trial road difficult

To survive post-trial motions and an inevitable Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. appeal, Apple Inc.'s $1 billion verdict must survive trends in patent law that make it difficult to prove big-dollar damages.
