Speaking to a group of women lawyers in Los Angles this spring, Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye pointed out an interesting fact about the history of women on the state Supreme Court.


In 162 years, the court has seen only six women justices, including herself. Four of those women make up the court's current female majority.
