State Bar Moves To Investigate Cases Of Misconduct by Prosecutors

In response to a recent study finding that California prosecutors often go unpunished for serious courtroom misconduct, the State Bar is examining more than 100 cases described in the report and taking steps to enhance its procedures.

In response to a recent study finding that California prosecutors often go unpunished for serious courtroom misconduct, the State Bar is examining more than 100 cases and taking steps to enhance its procedures.

"We want to look at the misconduct cited... and do so in a responsible fashion," said James E. Towery, the State Bar's top discipline prosecutor.
