Setting Sights on Safety

Forum Column - By Jeffrey A. Lowe - One would think that the medical malpractice crisis is reaching epic proportions. President Bush recently spoke about the national medical malpractice crisis and called for reform. Legislators in Nevada approved a proposal to cap damages in medical malpractice cases. Mississippi is planning a similar proposal. A California law, the Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act of 1975, is the model for such reforms.
