"There are some broad differences across the Bay Area that suggest near-term rental outperformance in the East Bay. Both the San Jose MSA (Santa Clara County) and the San Francisco MSA (Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties) have had materially collective job losses year to date. By comparison, the Oakland MSA (Alameda and Contra Costa counties or 'East Bay') has shown steady job creation throughout the year with more than 10,000 jobs created year to date.
