ABA Condemns Sentence Law, Prisoner Torture

ATLANTA - It was not a good day for the Bush administration at the American Bar Association on Monday. First, the ABA's policy-setting body, the House of Delegates, overwhelmingly voted to approve a quartet of resolutions calling on the federal and state governments to repeal all mandatory minimum sentences and generally to be smarter, not tougher, in dealing with criminals.
