S.F. Voters to Decide on Taxing Law Partners

SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco supervisors have asked voters to decide whether law firms should get a bigger tax bill. The city's Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a raft of new business taxes proposed by Mayor Gavin Newsom. The package includes a ballot measure asking voters to extend the city's 1.5 percent payroll tax to cover partner profits.
