Environmentalists Buffaloed by 9th's Eagle Ruling
SAN FRANCISCO - The bald eagle can't help the bison, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Wednesday. In a unanimous decision, a three-judge panel ruled against environmentalists who had cited alleged threats to bald eagles as the basis for challenging part of a controversial effort to control Yellowstone Park's wayward bison. The bison, also commonly known as buffalo, wander across park boundaries into neighboring Montana and pose a disease threat to that state's cattle.
