High Court Weighs Shareholder Suits

The U.S. Supreme Court weighs on Monday whether to make it harder for shareholders to sue companies as a class as it considers a securities-fraud suit against Halliburton Co.

WASHINGTON - When the U.S. Supreme Court weighs whether to let Halliburton Co. shareholders collectively sue the multibillion-dollar corporate giant today, it will also consider making it much more difficult for any group of plaintiffs to band together as a class in securities fraud litigation.
