$3.4 Million Verdict a Win for Abbott

A federal jury found Abbott Laboratories must pay $3.4 million to competitor GlaxoSmithKline after a month-long antitrust and breach of contract trial in Oakland. GSK had been seeking $571 million in damages.

For raising the price of an HIV drug by 400 percent, Abbott Laboratories must pay competitor GlaxoSmithKline $3.49 million, according to a verdict returned by an Oakland federal jury Wednesday after a month-long antitrust and breach of contract trial.
