LOS ANGELES - A state doctor who was set to testify as early as this summer in a federal lawsuit highlighting deficiencies in California's prison health care system has backed out of the case after objections from prison officials.
Now the plaintiffs' attorney is accusing the lawyers defending physicians for the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation of witness tampering.
