Wal-Mart Class Action Faces Skeptical Justices

The U.S. Supreme Court appeared skeptical Tuesday about allowing female employees to sue retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc. together as a class in what would be the largest gender-bias case in history.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Supreme Court seemed hesitant Tuesday to allow female employees to sue retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc. as a class in what would be the largest gender discrimination case in history.


The court's conservative justices appeared doubtful the class action under the plaintiffs' theory would be fair to either Wal-Mart or the individual employees. They went beyond skepticism...
