House Passes Bankruptcy Reform Legislation
Shortly after the House Judiciary Committee passed The Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1999 (H.R. 833), the full House passed the bill 313 to 108. As was the case in the 105th Congress last year, the primary intent of the legislation is to limit the number of Chapter 7 bankruptcy filings and channel those debtors into Chapter 13.
