Retired judges sue over pension benefits

A group of retired judges who are now mostly in their 80s, along with their spouses and heirs, are suing the Judicial Retirement System claiming the agency miscalculated their pension benefits.

A group of retired judges who are now mostly in their 80s, along with their spouses and heirs, are suing the Judges' Retirement System claiming the agency miscalculated their pension benefits.


Dozens of jurists who were on the bench in the 1970s accuse the system of refusing to follow a 1980 state Supreme Court ruling that spelled out how their benefits were to be vested.
