ADA lawsuits rage on despite state laws to limit them

A recent wave of disability access lawsuits in Orange County are precisely what some lawmakers sought to sequester three years ago when California enacted SB 1608. But the litigation scene remains nasty.

Jovany J. Munoz wanted a tattoo. Or at least he wanted the ability to get one.


A paraplegic, Munoz sued a Laguna Beach tattoo parlor and its landlord last December in Orange County Superior Court. According to the complaint, Munoz alleged the business lacked a ramp and was not wheelchair-accessible.
