Politicians Talk Trash on Graffiti-Splotched Banks of L.A. River

Column By Garry Abrams - Los Angeles politicians pledged Wednesday to make the Los Angeles River suitable for Huckleberry Finn. In a few years. That was the message City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, six City Council members, as well as water quality officials and environmental activists, delivered as they gathered on the garbage-strewn, graffiti-splotched concrete shores of the river in question to announce the settlement of a lawsuit.
