Cutting Programs in Pieces

Forum Column - By Fred Silberberg - Gridlock is a term we commonly use to refer to the condition of traffic on our state's freeways. This condition, however, no longer is limited to freeway traffic. Gridlock is coming to our family courts, and in some cases it is already here. The combination of California's budget crisis, lack of vision by court administration and an increase in court fees for continuances is causing our painfully slow-moving family court system to come to a screeching halt.
