Workers' Comp Case a Lesson In Law's Occupational Hazards

Mulji Patel, who injured his back while working at a Rockwell plant nearly three decades ago, was so frustrated he threatened one lawyer with a gun - turned out it was unloaded - and attacked another with a hammer. He faces up to 18 years in prison.

LOS ANGELES - Workers' compensation cases can be maddening for injured employees, but Mulji Patel's could take the title for the strongest reaction by a claimant: The 70-year-old former aerospace worker has taken a hammer and a gun to his employer's attorneys.

The most recent case - that would be the hammer attack - could land him behind bars for the remainder of his life.
