U.S. Justices Will Consider How Judges Award Attorney Fees in Rights Cases

Daily Journal Staff Writer WASHINGTON - The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to hear a case about the discretion federal judges have to award plaintiffs in civil rights cases enhanced attorney's fees when clients receive especially high-quality legal representation. The case centers on a class action complaint filed in 2002 on behalf of 3,000 foster children in Georgia over alleged failures in the state's foster care system.
