Macy's in Mission Valley among stores company is closing
With the moves, the company said it expects to generate annual expense savings of approximately $550 million, beginning in 2017, enabling the company to invest an additional $250 million in growing the digital business, store-related growth strategies, Bluemercury, Macy's Backstage and China.




A total of 140 store associates are losing their jobs because of the closure.
The company's closures do not affect its stores in Fashion Valley, Eastlake, University Towne Centre, Carlsbad or El Cajon.
