Apartment Landlords Cut Rents as Demand Weakens
BY RAY A. SMITH Dow Jones Newswires Good news for tenants: Apartment rents are falling again. Landlords from Atlanta to Seattle are being forced to slash rents because of anemic demand. Overall, rents fell 1.1 percent in the fourth quarter, after edging up in the two previous quarters, according to Axiometrics Inc. , a Dallas-based research firm.
