Judge rules state must recognize $14.2 million contract for affordable housing project
Lawyers for the plaintiffs said the ruling may be the first win for dozens of local governments challenging decisions by the Department of Finance on funding for projects in the wake of the death of the state's redevelopment agencies.

A Sacramento judge ruled Wednesday that California must recognize a $14.2 million contract for an affordable housing project in Oxnard, a win the plaintiffs' lawyers said couldbe the first for dozens of local governments and other entities challenging decisions by the Department of Finance on funding for projects in the wake of the death of local redevelopment agencies.
