Federal Circuit sides with holding companies over ITC "domestic industry" requirement

Silicon Valley companies advocating for tighter domestic industry requirements at the International Trade Commission were dealt a major setback Thursday by a federal appeals court.

Silicon Valley companies advocating for tighter domestic industry requirements at the International Trade Commission were dealt a major setback Thursday by a federal appeals court.


The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit sided with Pennsylvania holding company InterDigital Communications LLC in its argument that licensing constitutes a "domestic industry" under ITC guidelines.
