State Supreme Court appears ready to limit felony murder rule

In oral argument, the justices appeared ready to clarify that a felonious act definitively ends when the perpetuator has reached a place of temporary safety. Its decision will likely reverse a unanimous appellate court ruling.

SAN FRANCISCO - The state Supreme Court justices gave little doubt Tuesday that they will reverse an appellate court ruling and grant a new trial to a man convicted of murder.
