WASHINGTON - For the second time this term, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a statute on free speech grounds Tuesday when it held that a law that bans the depiction of animal cruelty is unconstitutional.
The decisive 8-1 ruling stated that the law was so overbroad that it could be used to prosecute people for distributing images showing lawful activity, including hunting.
