WASHINGTON - U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens announced Friday his intent to retire at the end of the current term.
When he leaves the bench he will be 90 years old and would have served as a justice for 35 years.
Stevens sent a brief letter to President Barack Obama Friday revealing his intent to retire.
