Hollywood Loses Piracy Round in Court

SAN FRANCISCO - A federal judge in Los Angeles has handed the entertainment industry its first major courtroom defeat in the battle against Internet piracy, ruling that the developers of several Napster-like file-sharing services are not liable for vicarious or contributory copyright infringement.
