Fairness, Reliability of Confessions Can Be Improved

Forum Column - By Patrick Mattimore - Three times a year, the American Psychological Society publishes a journal, "Psychological Science in the Public Interest." The most recent issue of the journal, released last month, is devoted entirely to a study of the psychology of confessions. It was co-written by professors Saul Kassin, founder of Legal Studies at Williams College, and Gisli Gudjonsson, from the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College, London.
