Mural Project at Juvie Hall Takes on Own Life

LOS ANGELES - Freddy Miranda grew up in the juvenile system. By 9, he had been arrested twice for petty theft. At 11, he got caught with three other kids breaking into a house with a 30-30 caliber assault rifle. That offense landed him in Sylmar Juvenile Hall, 30 miles from downtown Los Angeles, and later at the California Youth Authority.
