Lawyers Ask to Keep Guardsman in U.S.

SAN FRANCISCO - Lawyers for a Sacramento-area National Guardsman asked a federal appeals court Monday to keep the soldier in the United States while he challenges his Iraq deployment under the Bush administration's extended enlistments, which has been dubbed a "backdoor draft."
