Chief Magistrate Judge Feels Comfortable Setting the Pace

SAN JOSE - U.S. Magistrate Judge Patricia V. Trumbull comes from that generation of women lawyers who were first. Trumbull, 59, in 1975 was one of the first two women hired by the federal public defender's office in San Francisco. In the 1980s, she became the first woman to run the public defender's office in San Jose. She now is the first woman to serve as chief magistrate judge in the Northern District of California.
