High Court Makes Labor Law Ruling

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that an employee's spoken complaints, like written ones, are covered by anti-retaliation protections in federal labor law.


WASHINGTON - The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that an employee's spoken complaints, like written ones, are covered by anti-retaliation protections in federal labor law. The 6-2 ruling overturns the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Justice Elena Kagan was recused from the case. Kasten v. Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corp., 09-834.
