USC Law Students Mentor Next Generation
Student volunteers from the USC Gould School of Law’s Street Law program hosted 52 students from the James A. Foshay Learning Center and 18 from Los Angeles High School on Feb. 25 to educate them on and peak their interests in legal professions, issues and systems. “Mentor Day” included a lecture by USC law school lecturer Donald Scotten on business liability, a panel of law students and one practicing attorney to discuss navigating a path to higher education, and a lesson taught by Street Law volunteers on plea bargaining. After a hard day’s work, students were treated to a pizza lunch and a raffle for USC prizes.
