Environmentalists launch another attack against growth of crude by rail

Local air regulators failed to give environmental scrutiny to the Bakersfield Crude Terminal, a lawsuit alleges.

Environmentalists have a new target in their ongoing battle over trains bringing crude oil into the state, filing a lawsuit Thursday against Central Valley air pollution regulators alleging they have allowed the Bakersfield Crude Terminal to illegally evade environmental review.
