State Bar trustees defend decision to hire psychologist after director's firing

The State Bar's decision to hire a psychologist who encouraged its Board of Trustees to engage in "positive self-talk" at its planning retreat over the weekend has raised eyebrows.

The State Bar of California is not the only government agency that turns to a psychologist when the going gets rough.


The Santa Rosa City Council hired a psychologist - the same one hired by the State Bar - when its members couldn't agree on how to evaluate top city managers.
