High court ruling allows employees to pursue some class claims in California

The state Supreme Court's decision forbidding arbitration for certain claims in employment disputes will stay intact after the U.S. Supreme Court declined Tuesday to review the case.

The state Supreme Court's decision forbidding arbitration for certain claims in employment disputes will stay intact after the U.S. Supreme Court declined Tuesday to review the case.


These claims, filed under the Private Attorney General Act, or PAGA, have become an increasingly popular way to keep wage and hour cases in court in the face of higher standards for class certification.
