Have you really evaluated whether you're better off having your $1,000 per hour engagement partner lead your diligence or document review, in the sense of rolling up their sleeves and doing actual work, or leaving it all to the $300 per hour first-year lawyer? It may be time to reconsider the standard model, which leaves much foundational work to those that may be least capable of building that foundation.
