Orrick volunteers stop rule to fast-track death row appeals
A controversial push by the Department of Justice to fast-track appeals for death row inmates met its match in a team of Orrick attorneys. They fought the effort, saying the DOJ's proposal wouldn't ensure defendants got qualified counsel.
