Federal judge vacates death sentence conviction due to prosecutorial misconduct

Because prosecutors had allegedly tried to elicit confessions and hindered the defense's ability to have a second eyewitness present at a 1982 murder trial, U.S. District Judge David O. Carter granted habeas relief claims Tuesday.
