Deadpan Judge's Courtroom Called The Gold Standard
HANFORD - Kings County Superior Court Judge Peter Schultz runs his courtroom with the precision and efficiency of a well-wound clock. For the past 17 years, the 53-year-old jurist has been known to promptly open his civil and criminal calendar at 8:15 a.m. every day. All criminal and civil jury trials are scheduled in the afternoons, five days a week. Barring a cataclysm, trial dates are etched in stone. Continuances are not routine.
