SAN FRANCISCO - In a role reversal, the notably litigious record industry found itself on the defensive end of a lawsuit Wednesday after a group of scientists from Princeton and Rice universities petitioned a federal court in New Jersey to allow them to publish research on anti-copying technologies free from the threat of litigation.
