Prison Board Bill Wins Backing

SACRAMENTO - Angry senators eliminated funding for the state parole board in April, saying board members weren't doing their jobs. The most serious charge was that the Board of Prison Terms had failed to grant hearings in a timely manner, resulting in a backlog of more than 2,000 cases and delays of up to six months.
