About Face

In an important ruling originally arising in California, the National Labor Relations Board has made it more difficult for a company to withdraw recognition of a union that represents its workers. But the board also lowered the standard for an employer to seek an election to "decertify" a union. Levitz Furniture Co. of the Pacific, 333 N.L.R.B. No. 105 (March 29, 2001).
