Whistleblower Has First Amendment Protection
SAN FRANCISCO - Bolstering the First Amendment rights of whistleblowers, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday ruled that Idaho officials are not immune from civil damages for firing an employee allegedly because he complained that his fellow firefighters were viewing hard core pornography from the Internet at work.
