Gov. Jerry Brown persuaded the Legislature to eliminate the state's geographically targeted economic development areas (GTEDA) [primarily enterprise zones] and replace them with several new tax incentives. Most of these changes were made by Assembly Bill 93 (Chapter 69), with a number of modifications adopted by Senate Bill 90 (Chapter 70). Both measures were signed into law Thursday.
