SAN FRANCISCO - When Daimler AG agreed in April to pay the United States $185 million to resolve criminal and civil charges brought against it under the Foreign Corruption Practices Act, the amount was one of the largest ever under the decades-old law and one more sign of its record-breaking resurgence.
