TV Maker Wins Patent Ruling

In a major victory for Irvine-based Vizio Inc., a federal appeals court on Wednesday ruled that the company successfully redesigned its digital televisions so they no longer infringed a competitor's patent.

In a major victory for Irvine-based Vizio Inc., a federal appeals court on Wednesday ruled that the company successfully redesigned its digital televisions so they no longer infringed a competitor's patent.

The ruling, by a divided panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, will allow Vizio to continue to import its popular television sets into the country.
