Mining Company Will Pay State $42.2 Million

A mining company agreed to pay California $42.2 million to settle a complaint that it stole more than 2 million cubic yards of sand from Suisun Bay to sell to its affiliates for use in concrete production, Attorney General Jerry Brown announced Monday.
