WASHINGTON - When exactly does a criminal suspect's constitutional right to a lawyer begin? The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to confront that question in a Texas case examining whether a suspect had a Sixth Amendment right to counsel during initial proceedings before a magistrate judge.
