Burglars can't be charged multiple times for crimes in different rooms, court rules

A criminal offender cannot be convicted of multiple burglaries solely because he entered multiple rooms, the California Supreme Court ruled.

A criminal offender cannot be convicted of multiple charges of burglary solely on the basis that he entered multiple rooms, the state Supreme Court ruled Thursday, reversing a decision by the 4th District Court of Appeal.
